“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and critically.
Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The percussion section of the marching band consists among the following: Field Battery (Snare, Tenor Drums and Bass Drums) and the Front Ensemble (Concert Percussion, Mallet Percussion, Timpani, Electronics, etc.) The percussion section is selected based on performance at the Spring Training Camp and Summer Rehearsals. The specific instrumentation and instruments used in the percussion section will vary from year to year based on the demands of the overall show design.
In the spring semester, all percussionists will be enrolled in Percussion Ensemble. This group will rehearse during the school day.
The percussion ensemble is the performance ensemble that is associated with the percussion class. Although the percussion ensemble is made up of students in the percussion class, percussionist from outside the class may participate upon director appointment.
