Percussion Arranger

JOEFANT

A native of Fairhope, AL, Joe Fant uprooted from Nashville, TN in November of 2011 and relocated back to the Gulf Coast. His teaching experience started with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 1997 and 1998 and with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps where he taught the bass drum line from 99-01, achieving 2 I&E titles. Joe then taught the undefeated Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2002 and with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2005.

He was a staff member with Music City Mystique in 2002, 2003, and 2008 to present including the 2011 WGI Gold Medalists. His marching experience includes 3 years with Southwind and 4 with The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. As a marching member, he earned a DCI Division 2 Championship and a DCI Division 1 Championship as well as 2 DCI High Percussion awards. He was the arranger/caption head of the Newnan HS Indoor Percussion Ensemble from Newnan, Georgia in 2001 and 2002. In 2002, the drumline placed 5th in the Percussion Scholastic A Class at the WGI Championships.

Previously, Joe was the Marching Percussion Marketing and Product Manager for Pearl Corporation and now works for MakeMusic Inc. He has been the percussion caption head for the 24 time Tennessee State Champion McGavock High School and a member of the winter percussion staff for the 2 time WGI Scholastic Open Finalists, Harpeth High School since 2008 and continues to be an in demand adjudicator for Fall Marching Band in Oregon, Colorado, Nevada; the Minnesota Percussion Association, SCGC, CIPA, CWEA, GCGC, TCGC, NWAPA, and LCGPC Indoor Percussion Circuits.
