Meredyth Petersen is the former Director of Bands at Gulf Shores Middle School in Gulf Shores, Alabama where her bands consistently received Superior ratings at state and regional assessments. Mrs. Petersen was elected to membership in the prestigious American School Band Directors Association in June of 2017. She currently serves as the District Chairman for District VII of the Alabama Bandmasters Association. In addition, she has served on the Music Selection Committee for the Alabama Bandmasters Association since 2015. Mrs. Petersen is active as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator of bands throughout the state of Alabama. In September 2017, Mrs. Petersen was named Teacher of the Year at Gulf Shores Middle School. Mrs. Petersen received her Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music Education from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. She received her Masters in Music Education, from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2013.

Tyler Butler is a recent graduate from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music Education, where he served in many prominent roles during his studies. He was the principal trumpet in the USA Wind Ensemble from the Spring semester of 2018 until the Fall semester of 2020. During his time in the USA Jaguar Marching Band, Mr. Butler served as a trumpet section leader for two years and a student assistant conductor for one year. Mr. Butler also played in one of USA’s top brass quintets and was awarded first-place in the 2019 New Orleans ChamberFest Competition. He was also invited as a member of USA’s Trumpet Ensemble to perform at the 2020 International Trumpet Guild Conference.  

Mr. Butler is currently pursuing a Master in Music Education.
